The Branch
A scene, a decision, a consequence. The learner reads what is happening, chooses what they would do, sees why it mattered, and moves on, until the story ends in one of the endings you wrote. Then the debrief: their route, choice by choice, beside the strongest route through the story, with the score out of the best possible. The map in the builder shows the whole thing at a glance, with the scores on the edges.

One decision per scene
Second person, present tense, a line of dialogue over a paragraph of description. Every choice is something a reasonable person might do; the weak ones are weak for a reason the feedback names in one sentence. Score the choice you would teach highest, and let detours converge back onto the main path so the story stays coherent and the writing stays manageable. The strongest route is worked out from the graph, so the debrief is always honest about what the best play was.
Endings that land
Good, mixed and bad endings, each a short paragraph of what happened afterwards. The mixed one, where nothing went wrong but something was missed, is usually the most instructive.

The page reports the score out of the best route, so a SCORM package records it, and a hosted link can collect results by name.
