Most training about difficult conversations stops right where the learner would have to say something. This is where they say it, out loud, to someone who answers back. You write the other person and what good looks like; the AI plays them in a real voice; your people just talk it through before it's real.

The builder asks for the parts that make a rehearsal useful, and nothing that doesn't.
Just talk, back and forth
No chat box. The learner speaks, pauses, and the character answers out loud in the voice you picked, then listens for the reply. The hard sentence has to be said, not drafted. Typing is on the side for anyone who needs it. Voices by ElevenLabs.
A reason to be guarded
You write what's really going on, which the learner never sees. The character only gives it up if the conversation earns it: specific, open, patient. Rushed or accusatory, and they close down.
Facts that don't move
The brief is the learner's evidence. The character is told to treat it as true and never contradict it, so the scoring can fairly reward a learner who uses it.
A debrief that names the gap
Each objective is marked met or not yet, with the evidence. Each skill is placed against the behaviour you described at 2, 5 and 8 out of 10, not against the model's mood that day.
Safe to get wrong
If a learner says something that sounds like real distress rather than roleplay, the character steps out, says this isn't the place for it, and points them to support. Abuse and attempts to break it get a polite close.
Private by design
Your account sees how many rehearsals have been used, never what anyone said. Transcripts are stored in Sydney and de-identified after 30 days. Learners are anonymous to us.

Before you use it with real people
What do learners see?
A short brief with the facts and their objectives, then a spoken conversation: they talk, the character answers out loud, and it goes back and forth until they end it for their debrief. They can switch to typing at any point. There's nothing to install and no account to make.
What do learners need?
A microphone and speakers, or better, a headset, and a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. The browser asks once for the microphone. The embed code already includes the permission an iframe needs to use it. Anyone who can't or would rather not speak can type.
What counts as a rehearsal?
One learner starting one conversation through an embed link. Your plan's 100 are shared across all of your conversations and reset on the first of each month. When they run out, the embed says so politely until the month turns over, or until you move to a custom plan. Your own tries in the builder don't count.
Can I see what my learners said?
No, and that's deliberate. Practice is somewhere people need to be able to get it wrong. Your account shows how many rehearsals have been used. If your organisation needs participation or named reporting, that's a custom plan conversation, and learners are told before they start.
Where does the data go?
Saved conversations and learners' rehearsals are stored in Sydney on the Lazuro practice platform. The AI character and the debrief are generated by Anthropic's Claude in the United States under commercial terms that don't allow training on your content. Voice goes through ElevenLabs: the character's lines to be spoken, and a learner's microphone audio to be turned into text. We don't record the audio. Transcripts are de-identified after 30 days. Is the score a valid assessment?
It's formative feedback, not a calibrated instrument. Anchors make it far more consistent than a bare rating, but a score should start a development conversation, never decide someone's job or grade.
What if I stop paying?
Your embed links keep working to the end of the period you've paid for, plus three days' grace, then show that the activity isn't available. Your conversations stay in your account, and links come back if you resubscribe.
Is it accessible?
The builder and the conversation work with a keyboard and a screen reader, typing is always available alongside voice, and there are no time limits. Our full position is on the accessibility page.
